YOU make an
impact!
Shayne doesn’t SHINE without Y-O-U!
We are so grateful for your partnership and investment in our students and school!
A NOTE FROM OUR FUNDRAISING CHAIR:
On behalf of the Shayne Elementary students, staff, and the entire Parent Teacher Association, I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for your generous investment in our school community this year! Because of partners like you, we have been able to achieve an incredible fundraising total of $85,975.55. WOW!
Community partnership is more than just a donation; it is a powerful statement to our students that their environment and their education matter to the leaders around them. Your support has allowed us to bridge the gap between basic needs and the exceptional experiences our children deserve.
How Your Investment Made a Difference
This year, every dollar was directed toward enhancing the daily lives and learning outcomes of our students. Here is a breakdown of how your contributions were utilized:
Student Investments ($12,500): Funded essential curriculum subscriptions, school-wide t-shirts, Pre-K tricycles, spirit store supplies, and the WatchDog/WatchMom programs.
Staff Development ($7,200): Provided $150 classroom supply grants to every single teacher to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed.
School Improvements ($3,300): Supported school clean-up initiatives and the installation of new picnic tables and volleyball nets.
Educational Experiences ($2,500): Enabled field trip resources and literacy support through the book fair.
Hospitality and Events ($2,300): Hosted community-building events including Fall Festival, Culture Night, the Valentine’s Dance, and staff luncheons.
The Star Project: Our New Turf Field
The absolute highlight of our year is that we are currently in contract to turf a significant portion of our recess area (~60k). For too long, our students have played on a field of dirt and rock, leading to dust-related health concerns and avoidable injuries. While these types of capital improvements are not funded by the district, we believe our students deserve a safe, compliant, and modern space to play.
This project was a massive undertaking, and it simply would not be happening without your partnership. You are quite literally changing the landscape of our school.
Looking Ahead: The Vision for Next Year
Once the turf is complete, our vision for the campus continues. Our goals for the upcoming school year include:
Safety & Shade: Installing a proper shading structure over the new field.
Playground Expansion: Upgrading our swings (we currently only have 5 swings for 850 students) and modernizing our playground equipment.
We would be honored to have you continue this journey with us for the 2026-2027 school year. Your ongoing commitment ensures that we can keep building a school environment that reflects the high value we place on our children.
Thank you again for your incredible heart for our students. We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the year to come.
Thanks for making Shayne SHINE,
Lee
